This morning I met my friend, Mike, for prayer. We talked for awhile before praying about needs, concerns, things God was teaching us and the like. One of my concerns has been our preparation for Uganda. We only have 4 months left before we leave and so much to do. Things have been moving so slowly that at times I feel like God is not answering our prayers or acting on our behalf.
It was during our visit this morning that I saw the image in my head of Jesus sleeping in the boat during the storm (I know this to be from God). The waves are all around, the boat is about to capsize, the disciples are about to drown, and Jesus is sleeping! Are you kidding me? One of the disciples must have felt the way that I do because he says, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" Jesus gets up, calms the storm and makes a little speech about their lack of faith. The disciples are amazed at his sovereignty over even nature! I realized for the first time this morning that they never would have grasped the fullness of who Jesus was and his power had he not slept and waited, had their situation not become so desperate. So here I am, humbled now. My attitude has changed. "Jesus, sleep if you want. In fact, take a good long siesta for both of us because with my four kids, I'm not getting one." A lesson in faith for me.

So true Kenneth! We are learning the very same thing as we see our money leaving our account and God still remains silent about His plans for us. He is teaching us not to worry about the tomorrows, but to do what He has given to do today knowing He promises to provide for our needs. Matthew 6:19-24 It's so free-ing! ...to live carefree and trusting as a child with caring parents. It is faith that pleases him, yes? =) It must please Him to know that you trust Him. And He will have the glory. May others see that He is God! :) Praying for you guys. ~Laura
